HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR RING?
Rings can brighten your hands, while adding shine and sparkle to your look. However, it's not always easy to decide on a particular model: so many different rings invade the counters of jewellery stores that you can't help but get confused! How to wear your choice on THE ring that suits you? We help you choose your hand jewellery according to three criteria: the shape of your fingers, your style of clothing, and finally, special occasions that require a special look.
Women's rings are numerous and choosing just one can be a bit of a puzzle. Especially if you're not used to giving out rings. Here are a few tips to help you choose a woman's ring. Size, shape, style, price... are all factors that you will bring into play in your choice of jewelry.
The Size of the Ring
Before choosing a ring model, you need to know the size of the jewel. Especially if you buy your jewelry online or in a jewelry store without the woman who will wear it. For this, you have different solutions. For example, you can download and print out a ring ring maker to compare a ring you usually wear to find out its diameter. If the ring is for you, measure your finger circumference with a tape measure.
Now that you know your size, you will be able to choose a ring that fits perfectly, that won't twist or, worse, slip until it falls off your finger.
Choosing your ring according to your fingers
Every woman has hands designed in a specific way: long, thick, short or thin fingers do not wear jewellery in the same way. Therefore, to embellish your hands with a beautiful ring, there are some rules to follow. Thus, short fingers are advised to prefer thin and discreet rings, or square or even rectangular rings. The idea is to choose a shape that will give the impression of lengthening the fingers. Little tip: wear the ring on the phalanx and not on the joint, so as not to give the illusion of shorter fingers. Furthermore, small hands are not advised to wear long rings, which would shorten the finger. Those with long, thin fingers are the luckiest: their hands can afford to wear all types of rings, without any impact on their appearance. This morphology therefore allows you to experiment with anything from classic rings to the most original. Take the opportunity to adorn your fingers with costume jewellery! As for thick fingers, they are generally advised to turn to thick rings. It may be counterintuitive, but thick rings on wide fingers make your hands look longer. Therefore, solid rings will be the best choice, since they will allow for a narrower finger width. In particular, curved rings are preferred to solitary rings, as they make the hand thinner.
Rings According to Your Style
When choosing a ring, the style of dress is another important criterion to consider. Don't make a fashion faux pas by wearing a ring that swears with your outfit! This applies to all your jewellery: jewellery and clothes must go together. It is therefore important to carefully study the shape and material of a ring to make sure that it will enhance you and not detract from your look. Try to match your colours: for example, if you wear blue tones, a Lapis Lazuli or Topaz ring will be a perfect complement to your outfit. Warm, red tones are more likely to call for a ruby-style ring. And if you have a bohemian look, an ethnic ring will be a hit.
This is obviously a criterion to take into account. It essentially depends on your tastes or those of the woman to whom you intend to offer this jewel. To make your choice, pay attention to :
The material: yellow gold, white gold, pink gold, silver, platinum, steel... It determines the color of the jewel, but also largely determines its price.
The stones: precious or fine, the stones that adorn the ring also dictate the price of the ring, as well as their number, quality, size ... Know that the so-called precious stones are diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald. Your choice of stone also depends on your taste in terms of colour.
The style itself: rather modern or classic, original, baroque or sober... It is difficult to identify the style of a ring and to find the one that will please you for sure. Find out the tastes of the person to whom you are giving the ring or ask your friends and family for advice.
Rings According to the Occasion
The Engagement Ring
- The size: we come back to this, but it's obviously fundamental, especially for such a jewel. The number of carats and the quality of the diamonds, stones and metals are important. What's more, some women prefer discreet jewellery when others only have eyes for the showy models.
- Your partner's preferences: yellow or white gold, a single diamond or several precious stones, a single or double ring, a ring with a design inspired by a famous model or an original creation from a jeweller...
- Your budget
